Technology Curriculum - SPATM
This course focuses on establishing a good understanding of legacy networking issues and ATM technology concepts to provide students with a solid understanding of ATM technology. Students learn to identify proper placement of ATM technology and factors the will influence the design of an ATM network. Concepts including ATM NSAP addressing, UNI / IISP / PNNI signaling, cell format, circuit creation, quality of service (QOS), Classical IP, LANE and MPOA will be covered. Students will practice design skills using case studies. ATM processes detailed will also be demonstrated using vendor equipment in a hands-on lab environment.
This course identifies and quantifies ATM technology issues for engineers and decision makers while teaching proper design methodology. The course goal is to enable engineers to design an ATM network to meet their customers internetworking needs in a multi-vendor ATM setting. Students will practice these skills using case studies and ATM equipment in a hands-on lab environment.
